Hey Girl, Hey!

I hope you ladies came with your game face on because this week’s challenge is going to “get real”-I mean literally. Key 4 to Excessive Elevation is to Become the Real MVP. I am sure you have all heard the term before so let me break this down a little bit and let you know what this means for our purposes. On any given day we can hop on a variety of social media platforms and see the highlight reels, the success stories and all of the benefits that come with living “the good life” right?
Everybody wants to be seen as the most valuable player, the Guru, the ones who’ve got “it” all figured out- which from a business standpoint, is strategic. BUT my question is how many women (in real life) are seeing past the marketing efforts on their timelines and stopping to ask themselves “what about the struggles”? Because the truth is, behind every successful person, there are some!

In order to grow in any area of your life you have to be willing and able to be vulnerable with both yourself and others and in this step I want you to become THE REAL MVP- most vulnerable player! Just a side note: I rushed home from work, got stuck in the rain, my hair is a hot mess and my camera doesn’t have filter capabilities but I promised you the this week’s challenge would be released on Wednesday so just know that when it comes to being vulnerable, I’m beyond with you on this one!

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE:

Become The Real MVP

This week I’m challenging you ladies to get real about things. I want you to define what you want and who you have to become/ what you have to do to get there. This week, I want you to dedicate at least two hours out of your week to becoming the real MVP! Spend some time alone, away from other people and the business of your day-to-day life… and ask yourself “what do YOU want out of life this year?” and “what is it going to take for YOU get there?”

You can do this anywhere; the beach, a park bench, your car on your lunch break – moms, maybe you’ve got your hands full and it’s just the patio before the kids wake up or after they go to bed. It doesn’t matter where or when you make the time- just make sure it’s quiet enough for you to relax and think clearly in your own space!

You can break this time up in to whatever increments work for your schedule. Maybe 4, 30-minute periods over the week, 2, one-hour periods, a full 2 hours on a Saturday- whatever works for you.

During this time I want you to really think hard about what has been on your heart and your mind lately, what are the things that you know you really want out of life… this year. Dig-deep and get real. This is about YOU, not your family, your spouse or your friends. What do YOU want? What do YOU think about regularly, what keeps YOU up at night? What have YOU thought about a million times but pushed aside when life happened or you got busy?

Is it a better relationship with your spouse or your kids? More money in the bank? A promotion? Your own business? To get in shape and feel great in a bikini? Don’t sugar coat it, don’t consider your current circumstances, don’t overthink other people’s opinions of you for saying these things out loud! Don’t consider the what “ifs” … just clear your head and ask yourself what do YOU want?

Pick 2-3 things and write them down… then GET REAL with yourself about what YOU will have to do in order to make these things happen. It’s not necessarily going to be a joyride but the purpose of this exercise is to help you get comfortable understanding that and get real about what it is actually going to take (from you) to elevate an certain area of your life.

EXAMPLE: “I want a better marriage.”- do you have to work on communicating with your spouse?, do you need to learn how to tell them exactly what you want-without beating around the bush or expecting them to read your mind?, do you need to stop avoiding conversations because you just don’t want to deal with them?, Do you need to get past emotional barriers that you might not even know are there? Are you bringing past relationships or trust issues intro your current situation? Are you making quality time a priority?

Another scenario may be: ”I want a promotion.”- do you have to put in extra hours, insert yourself in projects that are outside of your job description, take a course, or get better at understanding other people’s perspectives? Are you holding yourself back because you aren’t always open to listening to other people or open to new ideas? Are you afraid to take risks? Are you not as knowledgeable about your competitors as you should be?

Keep in mind, these are not your goals (we’ll get there in the coming weeks)! These are just the things that YOU TRULY WANT in the next year and a brainstorm around what YOU will have to do to get them. Be sure to: Leave a comment below or on our YouTube Channel, Send us an email, Shoot us a DM (via Instagram or Facebook), Tag us in your posts and/or videos and use the hashtags #getupGirl and #getupGirlchallenge.

Our community is here to cheer you on and we can’t wait to see what you ladies accomplish this week. You’ve got this Queen!
